Why am I a Wedding Planner
This is a question my friends and family have asked me many times, and I wanted to share the answer with you here. Choosing a wedding planner is such a personal decision, and not every planner is the right fit for every couple. That’s why I believe it’s important for you to get to know me a little better – to understand where my passion comes from and why I decided to follow this path.
A Love of Weddings from the Very Beginning
Since I was very young, I’ve always loved weddings. I remember the spark in my eyes whenever I watched a movie with a wedding scene, or when I was lucky enough to attend weddings as a guest. I’ve always been a huge romantic, and to me, weddings are the ultimate promise: a vow to love one another for the rest of your lives.
Who dreams of eternal love? As cheesy as it may sound – I do! 💕

My Obsession with Organisation
Alongside my love of weddings, I’ve always been passionate about organisation. I find it comforting when everything is under control and perfectly arranged. As a child, I would spend hours planning my birthday parties or inventing games for my sisters’ birthdays. My family quickly recognised me as “the organised one,” and they still turn to me whenever something needs planning.
Even outside of events, organisation is a part of who I am. I love finding efficient storage solutions at home, and I admit my organisational habits have rubbed off on my loved ones too! For me, organisation is not just a skill – it’s something I truly enjoy.

Discovering My Dream Job
It was through a film that I discovered wedding planning was an actual profession (yes, The Wedding Planner!). In France, wedding planners weren’t common at the time – couples usually organised their weddings themselves. But when I realised I could combine my two passions, weddings and organisation, into a career, I was over the moon.
I was only 15 when I decided: my dream job was to become a wedding planner.
At the same time, I had another dream – to study abroad. I knew this would also open more opportunities to work in countries where hiring a wedding planner was already part of the culture.
My Journey Abroad
The first step was passing the French Baccalaureate. After that, I had to convince my parents to let me study abroad. They were wonderfully supportive (and I’m so grateful for that), but they wanted me to have a “Plan B.” So, I studied Business and Management for two years in France before moving to Scotland to continue my degree in the same field.
And just like that, one dream was already ticked off the list: studying abroad! 🙂
Starting My Career in Weddings
My wedding planning journey officially began in September 2018, when I attended a workshop called The Life of a Wedding Planner with Dominique Douglas. That day confirmed for me that this was the career I wanted to pursue.
Soon after, I enrolled in a wedding planning diploma and earned my degree. In February 2020, I launched Mademoiselle Wedding – just one month before the world turned upside down. But not even a global pandemic could stop me from chasing my dream.
I continued my training with the UK Alliance of Wedding Planners and proudly became an Associate Wedding Planner. Step by step, I built the business I had dreamt of since I was a teenager.

In Short, Why I Became a Wedding Planner
- Because I adore weddings and they have always made me dream
- Because I love and am passionate about organisation
- Because combining weddings with organisation is everything I could wish for
- Because I love helping others realise their dream wedding or event
- Because witnessing magical moments between two people in love is priceless
- Because I wanted to use my skills and passions in one meaningful job
