This is something that I mention quite regularly, either on my website or on Instagram. It’s time for me to explain what it is. Being French myself, I can add something extra to your event, what I call the “French Touch”. Unless this is something you are looking for, I do not intend to turn your wedding into a French one, but more to add some French things to it. It can be anything and everything.
French is known as a beautiful, romantic and charming language. Most of the time when people ask me where I come from and right after I reply “France”, the next thing they say is “Oh I love French, it’s so beautiful”. I invite you to read this article which explains very well why people find French language beautiful.
French and English are two languages pretty close to each other. In fact, around 10,000 English words come from French. A lot of English words are spelt the same or almost the same in French and their pronunciation is very close too. For example, menu, invitation, table, adorable, information, bouquet and so much more. However, be careful because despite the same or very similar spelling, some words have very different meanings! On the other hand, French people are also using a lot of English words in their daily life and we call that “Franglish”. So why not do the same?
To incorporate these to your event and without using common French and English words, I will be able to suggest those that fit with your theme. This could be displayed anywhere you wish. It could be part of your decoration, your RSVP, your table plan or even part of the entertainment with your guests. I will also be happy to translate any word you wish to use as sometimes Google translate is cheeky. ^^
The food and wine
French gastronomy is known worldwide for its quality and diversity. In France, all regions have their specialities to satisfy every taste and sense. In addition to their large choice of food, what better accompaniment than with a good glass of wine. Similar to food, France has a variety of wines per region from white to red without forgetting rosé.
Should it be something you are looking for your reception or your evening dinner, I will be delighted to introduce it to you and to suggest good matches with your event. You could surprise your guests, or even yourselves, with French food they never get the occasion to try before.
If you are looking to change the usual wedding traditions, you could be looking at other countries traditions. They are some French traditions or not so called traditions, that I would be happy to detail with you if you wish. Another surprise to your friends and family to create a unique wedding.
Depending on where in France you are travelling, you will notice that every region has its atmosphere: Parisian chic, Mediterranean, Provencal, Rustic old villages and so much more. With decorations and accessories, it is possible to add these to your wedding. Simple touches to incorporate wherever you want from your preferred French ambience. Let me know and I will be happy to give you suggestions.
Do not hesitate to contact me if you would like to add some French Touch to your wedding. 🙂
